The image was taken through the tiny windows of a plane that was taking us to our destination, San Pedro Belize. The photograph instantly became one of my favorites because only I understood the difficulty to capture such images on a moving plane, with manual settings and the constant clouds that came in-between my camera and the result. The image shows the vertical East of the Caribbean Sea. The image tricks the viewers since the landscape’s outline is not visible, the clouds create the illusion that the sea and the sky are one. We are able to see many forms of marine environments inhabited like reefs and a small island in the distance where hundreds of species of marine life shelter. We can see different shades of blue and green that resemble the earth’s continents from above. The image shows the magnitude of the sea in comparison to the sky, however, not many people see the beauty that is within. There is another world inside that needs protection by humans, by us.
