The image is a huge contrast of the perspective of tourism at the Indian ocean where it shows that the local people as well as Kenyans from other regions too are tourists.

It is during the August school holidays in Kenya that the majority of students get an opportunity to appreciate the Indian Ocean which many people think is expensive to get to or is only for tourists from abroad.

The image shows other elements too with ships heading to the harbor as well as the people swimming with floaters which they hire at the shops at the beach.

There is a strong interdependence between the ocean creating a platform for transport as depicted in the ships, employment in the hiring of floaters and local tourism.
