King Cormorants aren't the great fliers on the best of days, so on this day, when the winds were reaching storm force off the cliffs of New Island, they were having a real battle! This was the day before the biggest storm that the Falkland Islands had seen for over 50 years and was a last chance to photograph nature's power before it was too dangerous to be on the cliff edge. The extreme south-west corner of the Falklands, where this island's nature reserve is located, is one of the best places in the world to experience powerful weather and see the South Atlantic ocean at her most impressive.
