Mbudya Island is a small uninhabited island located in the Indian Ocean near the Coast of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. The island is 20 minutes away from the mainland and popular for day trips and swimming. Being a frequent visitor, I find this island to be one of the most beautiful natural assets, which is greatly under-appreciated in Dar es Salaam. It is by far one of the cleanest public beaches; uncrowded and suitable for various leisure activities including swimming, snorkelling and many more. On the island, there are local fishermen who serve fresh seafood with fries and a simple shop that serves cold refreshments. It is suitable for day trips with families as well as friends. I chose this picture to make people aware of the beauty nature has offered in my own backyard. Tanzania has a lot more to offer that is just as beautiful as Zanzibar island.
