Taken July 30th. Petone Wharf has served fishermen, tourists, and wandering locals as a fishing hotspot, fireworks display venue and evening picnic area since 1907. The supporting beams of the structure exhibit traces of the destructive capability of a century's worth of tides, even with maintenance; which reminded me of nature and the ocean's capacity to recover from any impact that humans might have upon it, given enough time.
