Red Spotted Octopus photographed during a night dive near the HMS Maori World War Two wreck in Marsamxett Harbour, Malta.

This red spotted octopus is normally seen wandering at night in search for its diet of small animals such as crustaceans and small fish. It is a very intelligent species and like this one did, they are occasionally curious of shiny objects and try to "investigate".

During the day, normally they keep to their nests to keep away from their own predators and to rest after a night's hunt.
