Perhaps one of the most powerful images I have taken, showing the impact of humans on the environment and our waterways.

Located near Gould's Lagoon, at Austins ferry Tasmania, is a small pond. Gould's Lagoon is a sanctuary for wild bird life adjacent to the Derwent River.

Despite the beautiful and serene location, the impact by man with the dumping of rubbish is obvious. I feel this image clearly shows the detrimental effects of man on waterways and is pivotal to the competition. It is a very clear, strong and important message that all should be aware of.
