In Manus Province and other parts of Papua New Guinea, many islands are facing the biggest challenge yet; rising sea levels. In this portrait, I took the shot from Hawaii Island looking towards Pityluh Island, two of the many islands in Manus that are seeing receding coastlines. I wanted to show here that some decades ago, islanders were able to walk across to Pityluh when it was low tide season. Now they can't. We all have a part to play to reduce carbon emissions and cut carbon use as much as possible to save our beautiful islands and people.
