I took this photo in Brightlingsea, Essex, in March 2015. It shows how deserted our coastal town are 'out of season', which of course has an impact on their local economies - see how the row of beach huts look silently out to sea. It was quite early when I took this shot and the old man was the only other person on that stretch of the promenade. The wide angle lens I used really helped create the sense of space.
The moody lighting comes in part from the fact that it was the morning after the eclipse. An hour or so later, the gloom had lifted and people were out and about, so I'm glad I got there when I did.
