Seahorses are the ultimate romantics of the sea. They will pair for life and like to start every day with an elaborate courtship ritual that reinforces their bond. This deeply intertwined life continues through pregnancy where roles are reversed and the male will carry the eggs until birth.
Seahorses are threatened by the aquarium, curio and traditional Chinese medicine trade with the latter estimated to take over 150 million seahorses a year from the wild.
