Some creatures are just so beautiful and unique that it puts in jeopardy their very existence. The Weedy Seadragon is one such gem existing in the waters around the temperate regions of Southern Australia. Belonging to the sea horse family, their ornate colours and shape make them a very desirable aquarium species. This fact has pushed the species to the edge of extinction. They are now fully protected but illegal poaching makes this rare and vulnerable animal a victim to Human Impacts.
